CCR Planning Part 2

I gave more thought about how to answer the 4 CCR questions. I want to create my own version of the film to show how it could be improved with more solid planning. This version will help me answer two out of four questions.

1. How does your project use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?

For question number one, I am going to compare and contrast the final cut we made to my version of the final cut. This way I can show how they use and/or challenge conventions in different ways. Both the final cut and my alternate version have the almost the same kind of representation in them. The final cut shows that black women have knowledge, they aren't a damsel in distress or just a funny sidekick, they can be a main character who uses their intelligence to solve a mystery. My version is a little more specific because it portrays actors who are Indo-Caribbean. There is no representation for us in mainstream media, at least in the USA. Both film openings show that the media pays attention to the kidnapping of the Caucasian woman but not a woman of color.

2. How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?

For this question I can talk about how in the final cut, there didn't seem like much audience engagement because it was majority a conversation happening. The conversation also did not have very relevant dialogue to the story. In my version, there was more audience engagement because I added some of the suggestions the class gave us during the screening.

3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

I am answering this question interview style. I recorded my cousin asking me the question so now I need to add my part. This question might be the most difficult to answer for me because I am the director and I wasn't able to be present on the days they filmed. My production skills were really just learning more about planning and project management.

4. How did you integrate technologies - software, hardware, and online - in this project?

This question I will answer through a PowerPoint and voiceover. We used a canon camera to film with an SD card to save our footage. Adobe Premiere Rush is the editing app we used. There is the fake Tiktok that we also had to make which means we tried to integrate social media. YouTube is where we post all our videos.
